Performance monitor ( Perfmon )

Usually Performance monitor is called as Perfmon by the testers.This is default available tool in windows machines.
So to monitor cpu , memory and disk utilization we will use Perfmon.
Using this we can monitor local and as well as remote systems but both should be windows operated.

✓ How to monitor local machine?

Open the Perfmon then we can see the default graph.

To analyse the graph just goto report tab (in the left side on your system screen )
There you can double click on report then you can see the graph , right click on the graph and save the graph details with extension of the file as " .csv"
Then open the file and select the graph data , choose a graph then you can see the graph.

Note : Perfmon extension is " .blg"

✓ How to configure the remote server ?

Navigate to data collector set
Right click on it and create new data collector set by providing the details like name , url , credentials etc.
And also add the counters to be monitored during the test.

Then you can see the same data  collector set in the user defined node and also you can see in the reports tab as well.

To save the result and To analyse the graph just goto report tab (in the left side on your system screen ) There you can double click on report then you can see the data collector name provided by you , right click on the graph and save the graph details with extension of the file as " .csv"
Then open the file and select the graph data , choose a graph then you can see the graph.

Note :

It is a default monitoring tool to monitor windows operating systems based servers.
 Start
 RUN
 Type Perfmon
 Click ok.

Process:
 Right click on counter logs
 New log settings
 Provide the output file name
 Add servers& objects along with counters
 Define time interval
 Provide the output file name and Schedule settings.
